Itchy feet but not much in the bank? No problem. Each year, airport transfer site Hoppa unveils a fresh new list of world travel destinations for every budget, from the most expensive right down to the cheapest.

Analyzing a total of 84 destinations, the ranking is based on the average cost of one night in a hotel, a meal for two with one bottle of wine, a taxi ride, a coffee, a cocktail, a beer and a visit to the local tourist attraction. Everything you’d want for a short break, basically.

But low-cost doesn’t mean limited choice. Offering something for all tastes, from Eastern Europe to North Africa and historical cities to coastal resorts, here are the five cheapest destinations of the moment:

  1. Sofia, Bulgaria

  2. Cairo, Egypt

  3. Cartagena, Colombia

  4. Bucharest, Romania

  5. Antalya, Turkey

Next up, for around the $50(N24,500) per day mark, you can head to Siem Reap in Cambodia, the Ukraine capital of Kiev, Manila in the Philippines or Mexico City.

Overall, the cheapest destinations can generally be found in Southeast Asia, South America or Eastern Europe, with capital cities often coming out as the least costly.

On the other hand, if you’re feeling pretty swish you can head in the direction of Zurich, New York or Copenhagen for the world’s priciest travel options.

It’s worth bearing in mind, however, that the ranking is based on a somewhat ‘luxury’ travel budget that includes a hotel stay and restaurant dining. Of course, you can stay in an Airbnb (or even couchsurf) and eat street food for a fraction of the cost.
