Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has sent a message to those calling for his resignation.
According to him, he’s not willing to vacate his post after helping the party to amass a million votes more than major opponents NDC.
Chairman Wontumi believes those calling for his head have been contacted to denigrate him.
Though he couldn’t fulfill his promise of winning all 47 seats for the NPP in the region, Mr. Boasiako maintains the President is happy with the party’s performance in the region.
“Everybody is happy with the performance of the Ashanti region and even President Akufo-Addo is very pleased; we did not lose any of our seats because the New Edubiase seat traditionally belongs to the NDC and that of Fomena which has been taken by an independent candidate is an internal party matter which we will solve; it is only journalists and people who have been paid by the NDC to rubbish our gains who are saying our agenda failed,” he said on his Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio.
