A widow is asking for help from Nigerians after she was chased out of her late husband’s house because her only ‘crime’ is that she gave birth to a girl and not a son.
A Non-Governmental Organisation shared her sad story on microblogging site, Twitter while calling for help on her behalf as she has been reduced to nothing since her late husband’s family members took over all the properties.
According to the NGO with Twitter username @JustSociety4all, she washes bitter leaf and sells to her fed herself and her daughter.
Her story reads; ”This poor widow pushed out of the late husband house because she has only one girl for him.
She is washing bitter leaves and selling to feed herself and daughter.
Someone gave her this place without door and windows and no money to connect electricity to the room. Crying 4 help.”
