Here’s Lion King Teaser Trailer: Watch The Rise Of The New King
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has just released the first teaser trailer for director Jon Favreau’s The Lion King re-imagining, which roars into theaters on July 19, 2019.
The trailer, which debuted during the NFL matchup of the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, touched on familiar images from the animated version.
But it all felt more real, thanks to spectacular CGI reimaginings that accompanied James Earl Jones’ narration.
“From Disney Live Action, director Jon Favreau’s all-new The Lion King journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.”
The photorealistic computer-animated remake of the 1994 classic features an all-star voice cast: Eric Andre as Azizi, Beyoncé as Nala, Billy Eichner as Timon, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, John Kani as Rafiki, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari, John Oliver as Zazu, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, JD McCrary as young Simba, Shahadi Wright Joseph as young Nala and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi.
