Supreme Court dismisses Mahama’s application to inspect EC’s document

The Supreme Court has dismissed an application filed by lawyers for the petitioner in the election petition hearing, John Dramani Mahama, to inspect documents of the 1st Respondent, Tsatsu Tsikata, the Electoral Commission (EC).

After arguments advanced by Mr Tsikata in support of his application and counter-arguments by the lawyers for the 1st and 2nd respondents, the court rose to consider their ruling.

The court presided over by chief justice Kwasi Annin Yeboah subsequently returned to deliver their ruling after about an hour.

Reading the ruling on behalf of the panel, the Chief Justice said that the two prime witnesses for the petitioner had already admitted that they have duplicate copies of the said documents and therefore they do not deem it necessary to grant the application for inspection.
