Actress Moesha Boduong has described the ‘bashing’ she received after her CNN interview as a ‘blessing in disguise’.

The actress came under a heavy criticism on social media after she told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that her motivation, just like other women in Ghana, for dating married men, is because the economy is tough.

According to her, “In Ghana, our economy is such a way that you need someone to take care of you. You can’t make enough money as a woman here. Because even when you want to get an apartment, in Ghana they take two years’ advance and I just started working where will I get money to pay?”

But in her first interview since the CNN interview, the actress, who hosted the Red Carpet of this year’s Golden Movie Awards Africa, thanked Ghanaians for lambasting her as it helped establish a cordial relationship with the CNN.

“The whole CNN thing was a blessing. Especially with Ghanaians lambasting me, it went everywhere so yes it has been a blessing. Because of that, CNN had to come to my aid. I didn’t even have their contact but after the whole thing that went viral, they called me back and we have a very good relationship now. So, I’m looking at doing so many things with CNN soon and I’m doing something with them. That’s also in the pipeline and will come out soon thanks to my lovely Ghanaians, I love them so much,” she told JoyNews’ MzGee.

Moesha also revealed that plans are far advanced for her to release a movie about her ordeal.

“I’m launching my foundation soon and will soon produce my own movie. I’m still writing the story so everyone should expect my new movie. It’s going to be about me and everything on CNN so people should watch out and yes I’m going to turn that into a fortune,” she said.

The actress, who has featured in movies like ‘Pool Party’, ‘Bloodline’, ‘Grey Dawn’ etc., spoke about how people misunderstood her and also shared how she handles criticisms from the public.
