Black Stars General Captain, Asamoah Gyan, scored an 85th minute winner as North East United recorded their first win of the Indian Super League
Asamoah Gyan’s goal came in handy as United were pegged back and were heading for another draw against Odisha.
North East United drew their first game of the season 0-0 season but scored in the second minute of their second game.
Odisha levelled the score through Xisco Hernandez in the 71st minute and United looked to be heading for a draw.
United however piled on the pressure in search of their first win of the season at their home ground, the Ghandi Athletic Stadium.
However, they had to wait for some baby jet magic in the 85th minute as Asamoah Gyan scored the deciding goal and all important winning goal for the club.
He also won the hero of the match award.
Asamoah Gyan moved to India from Turkish club Kayserispor in the summer and has since taken in well the adventure.
He was also part of the Ghana squad that represented Ghana at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt and served in the role of General captain of the team.
He has formerly played for Udinese, Modena, Stadde Rennes, Sunderland, Al Ain and Shanghai Shenua in China.
