Edem feeels the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) promise to build ultra-modern studios for artists is needless.

Akufo-Addo’s government has promised to build recording studios in Greater Accra, Ashanti, and Western Regions.

These studios will be established in Kumasi, Accra, Tamale and Takoradi.

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia said on August 22, during the launch of the NPP’s 2020 manifesto in the Central Region.

Edem wants government to rather put in place systems that will ensure that artists reap the benefits of their investments.

He wants government to invest in ensuring better structures for artists to properly enjoy the fruits of their labour.

“I feel that underground artistes coming from there and still relating to them, I feel we need systems and structures to be working instead of studios. My reason is very simple: studios are everywhere now”.

“Underground artistes are recording in their bedroom, in hotels but when the song becomes a hit, what system is in place to ensure that they gain their revenue for their money, even their children and their parents if they pass away”

“I think that one is a better investment for the government to look at rather than studios”, Edem told Nana Romeo on Accra FM.

The rapper also argued that underground artists may not be able to afford these ultra-modern studios.
