The Horry County Coroner’s Office has identified a 43-year-old woman who was shot and killed in her home early Tuesday morning.
Tyronda Bellamy was shot and killed in her home near Loris, according to Horry County police. A suspect is in custody, but their identity was not immediately available.
It happened at about 5:30 a.m. on Alice Drive south of Loris, police said. Officers arrived at the home and found a Bellamy with a gunshot wound in the back bedroom.
EMS confirmed Bellamy was dead, according to a police report.
No additional information was immediately available. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
Neighbors also said they’ll remember Bellamy as a kind-hearted pillar of their community.
“She was a real sweet lady,” said Bell. “It breaks my heart knowing something like this happened to her.”
“She stayed to herself and she was just kind,” added Larry Long, another neighbor. “She was an excellent person.”
