Two teenagers killed in crash Saturday night in Gloucester County

Gavin Stoner, 18, of Glassboro

Two young men were killed in Gloucester County Saturday night when their car went out of control, drove off the highway and into trees, police said.

Gavin Stoner, 18, of Glassboro, was driving north on State Highway 55 in Mantua, when “the vehicle lost directional control, traveled off the roadway, struck two trees and overturned,” State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said in an email Sunday morning.

Stoner and the one passenger in the Toyota, Zembalist Lewis, 18, also of Glassboro, were thrown from the car and suffered fatal injuries, Marchan said.

The crash occurred at 10:39 p.m. at mile post 51.6 of the state road, also known as Veterans Memorial Highway.

The crash remained under investigation Sunday and no further information was available, Marchan said.
