The two men killed during a bar shooting were identified by the Knoxville Police Department Wednesday.
Zachery Herrera, a 28-year-old, and John Goosie, a 41-year-old, were shot outside of The Pint House entrance near Clinton Highway early Tuesday morning, according to KPD.
Two men, 40-year-old Kevin Matthews and 36-year-old Steven Davis, were identified as shooting suspects.
Based on the investigation, which included looking at The Pint House’s surveillance footage, Matthew and Davis approached the entrance of the bar and started assaulting Herrera for reasons that remain unknown.
Herrera was a security guard at The Pint House and Goosie was a patron attempting to break up the fight, according to KPD.
At some point during the fight, Matthews pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting both Herrera and Goosie.
Herrera died at the University of Tennessee Medical Center and Goosie died at the scene, KPD said.
Matthews is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, while Davis was charged with aggravated assault and violation of parole, according to KPD.
Davis was taken into custody in the parking lot of an Asheville Highway gas station just before 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Matthews remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous, KPD said.
