Legal luminary, Tsatsu Tsikata has chided the government for its decision to burn excavators as part of efforts to end the galamsey menace.
According to him, the government cannot fight illegality with illegality insisting that it makes no sense to burn excavators.
“That is nonsense. That is nonsense because you don’t fight illegality with illegality. You don’t presume people are guilty before you go through any process. There is no provision in any law of this country that allows the government to do that,” he stated in a Joy News report.
The government in its fight against galamsey continues to burn excavators seized at various mining sites.
