At least 18 people were killed when Robert Card, a 40-year-old retired military officer went on a shooting spree in Lewiston, Maine, on Wednesday at a bowling alley and restaurant.
Seven people died at the bowling alley, Just in Time Recreation, and eight at Schemengees Bar and Grill, said Col. William G. Ross of the Maine State Police.
Three more people died at local hospitals.
Among the victims were managers, bowling coach, cousins, siblings, daughters and sons.
Maine State Police says 8 of the 18 victims have been identified.

Tom Conrad
Another victim shot and killed in Lewiston Maine mass shooting identified as Tom Conrad.
Tommy Conrad was the manager of Spare Time bowling alley
He died while trying to take down the gunman, Robert Card.
Thomas Gilberti
Thomas Gilberti survived.
He was shot while letting children into the pin setter area.
He took many bullets to his legs while children ran towards him to hide.
Bob Violette
Bob, 76, died trying to shield children from the shooter.
For numerous years, Bob Violette served as the youth bowling coach at Spare Time, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
He was a keen bowler, and played in a couple’s bowling league with his wife when they retired.
Bob Violette also set up a youth bowling league at Sparetime recreation – which was one of the places targeted in the mass shooting last night.
Violette spent his time coaching kids at bowling, and he was remembered as someone who ‘passed away doing what he loved.’
Our research indicates that Bob had a background in the Military.
Violette was born and raised in Lewiston, and married his wife Lucy almost 50 years ago.
They shared three sons, Andrew, Tom, and John, and six grandchildren.
Justin Karcher
Another victim in the Lewiston, Maine mass shooting is 23-year-old Justin Karcher.
Justin Karcher’s mother recounted that they were enjoying an evening at Schemengees Bar & Grille in Lewiston when a gunman opened fire, hitting her 23-year-old son four times, leaving him in critical condition.
She mentioned that her son, hailing from Auburn, went through urgent surgery and is presently reliant on a ventilator.
She expressed that medical professionals have had to perform resuscitation procedures multiple times.
She emphasized that he is still in a critical condition. She described experiencing intense stress as she anxiously waits for updates and intends to visit her son in intensive care on Thursday morning.
Steve Vozzella
Another individual who fell victim to the tragic mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine has been identified as Steve Vozzella.
He was present at Schemenges at the time of the incident and tragically lost his life.
Steve Vozzella attended North Shore Tech and graduated in 1996.
He also attended Beverly School for the Deaf.
Steve Vozzella married in November 2022.
