The Minister for Tourism and Creative Arts, Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi has responded to veteran actor Kofi Laing popularly known as Kohwe’s plea calling for support for himself.
The actor some days ago in an interview with Accra based Adom Fm said veteran actors like himself and a host of many others suffer during their aged days because they barely boast of good living conditions and end up miserable. He took the opportunity to call on the government and others to support him when he is alive and not when he dies.
In response to his plea, the Minister of Tourism on behalf of the government paid him a visit on Friday to donate items for his support. Other people and organizations have also promised to make sizable donations to the actor and his family for making such an important call.
Expressing his joy on the short and needful reaction from the government through the minister, the actor said he was happy to receive the donations and called for more for his colleagues.
