There is nothing wrong with marrying your cousin – Ras Mubarak

Former lawmaker for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak has revealed for the first time that he got married to his cousin.

According to the former MP, his first wife Rasheeda Adams is his cousin but they got married and he sees nothing wrong with it.

He made this known in an interview with Nana Aba Anamoah on Starr FM.

The host of the program Nana Aba Anamoah was highly shocked upon hearing this from the former member of parliament and quizzed him whether or not it can be described as incest.

She asked: How are you married to your cousins, Isn’t that incest?

Ras Mubarak responded saying: “My goodness, that’s not incest. Incest is when you are marrying your direct siblings.

According to him, he is a Dagomba and they are allowed to marry their cousins.
