Teephlow Opens Up On Why He Deserves Rapper Of The Year

The annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is scheduled to take place sometime next week and we just can’t wait for it.

However, ever since nominations were released by Charter House, organisers of the awards scheme, several artistes have opened up on several issues such as why they weren’t nominated for certain categories and why the deserve to win in certain categories.

The latest to join the list of artistes to openly touch on why they deserve to win in certain categories is rapper Teephlow.

In an interview with Sammy Flex of Zylofon Fm on Thursday, the rapper said had it not been for numbers that would favor colleague artistes he has been nominated with, he deserves to win the rapper of the year award for this year.

As monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, the rapper known for his Fante style of rap and word play said his song Preach which was the rap song nominated for this year contains very deep message and emotions which he channeled from deep within and sends a strong message across, a key factor that voters need to consider when voting.

He admitted that colleague rappers in his category like Sarkodie, Medikal, Manifest, etc however have considerably a large fan base than him and as such, the voting might not favor him.

He entreated the organisers to get a body that understands rap music and will consider words used by rappers and the message they are sending across to judge the winner of the rapper of the year category, a decision he believes would favor him incredibly if taken.

The young rapper touching on why he thinks numbers won’t go in his favor this year explained that the current generation of music lovers from this side of the world takes time before they accept an artiste, a process he is undergoing and will soon reach.
