Techiman South: Court Throws Out NDC’s Application To Amend Petition After EC Submitted Original Collation Sheet

Court

The Wenchi High Court has thrown out an application by lawyers for the NDC’s parliamentary candidate in the 2020 election, Christopher Beyere Baasongti.

The said application was filed by counsel for the NDC candidate praying the court to be granted leave to amend portions of their petition.

The Petitioner wanted to amend portions of his petition to reflect that there was indeed a parliamentary results collation in the constituency, even though the said collation was tainted by irregularities.

This is sharp contrast to the earlier claim in the original petition of the NDC candidate which claimed that there was no collation at the Constituency.

The NDC is now backtracking on its earlier claim of no collation after the EC, compelled by an order of the court, produced the original collation sheet for the inspection of the petitioner.

The Case has been adjourned to 11th May 2021.
