Man, 22, is found dead in Pine Bluff shooting

A homicide investigation has been launched by the Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) after receiving a report of a shooting at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Officers responded to the Suzanne Apartments, at 2123 South Blake Street.

After arriving to the scene, they found a man, unresponsive, on the ground on the north side of the apartment complex, according to PBPD. He was later identified as Taron Dismuke, 22.

Dismuke was pronounced deceased by emergency medical personnel. The next of kin has been notified.

The suspect turned himself in at around 6:30 p.m., after the incident, according to a release.

Leon Jermaine Jonson, 22, will be interviewed, and taken to W.C. Dub Brassell Detention Center, and charged with Murder in the First Degree, pending further investigation.

“We understand the impact that incidents like this have on our community, said Lieutenant DeShawn Bennett, Public Information Officer. “Our detectives are committed in conducting a thorough investigation, and we are asking anyone with information to this case to come forward.”
