Following the alleged murder of three persons in Sunyani Abesim Killing within the Bono Region, the acting Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, visits the region.
A 28-year-old architect named Richard Appiah has been arrested by police on suspicion of the murders.
At the moment, he is being held by police as part of an investigation.
There were three victims in total: two young men aged 12 and 15 and another yet-to-be-identified male.
On Friday, August 20, 2021, the bodies were found in Richard Appiah’s living quarters in Alaska near Abesim.
The acting Inspector-General of Police is joined by COP Paul Awuni, Director General of the MTTD, DCOP Habiba Sarpong, Director General of Welfare, DCOP Bediako, Director General of Services, and other senior members of the police administration.
A meeting was held behind closed doors between the acting IGP and his team and Abesim chief after they had been briefed on the incident.
In conjunction with community members, the Police were able to arrest the suspect.
