St Peter’s Boys Senior High School are the winners of the 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz.
This is the third time, St Peter’s SHS has claimed the NSMQ trophy after they won in the 2000 and 2005 edition.
The much anticipated final contest saw West Africa SHS, WASS stand up to 2016 NSMQ winner Adisadel College and two-time NSMQ winner, St. Peter’s SHS in the final stage of the 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz.
The final competition proved to be a tough one as all three schools were braced for the competition after striving through the quarterfinal and semifinal stage of the quiz.
Adisadel College began the competition on a high note as it took the lead in the first three rounds but was disadvantaged in the 4th and 5th rounds.
At the end of the competition, St. Peters SHS scored 45 points, beating West Africa Senior High School who scored 44points with while Adisadel College trailed with 39 points
While WASS and ADISCO began the journey of this year’s NSMQ among the top 27 seeded schools, PERSCO, who had won in 2000 and 2005, succeeded in winning their third title in 12 years.
