Shuntaria Virgous: Mother of Two Identified as Victim in Frayser Shooting

A grief-stricken family seeks justice after a young mother, Shuntaria Virgous, was fatally shot in Frayser early Saturday morning.

Police responded to a call at 4:50 a.m. on the 1400 block of Alta Vista and found Virgous deceased.

According to her family, Virgous, 27, leaves behind two young children.

Shuntaria Virgous’ kids were both under age 7.

“We’re hurting right now,” said a tearful relative, who wished to remain anonymous. “We’re grieving and Shuntaria was loved by so many people.”

“She’s a beautiful person, loving mom; she loves her family.”

The family told FOX13 they believe they know who’s responsible.

“My family just has questions to all the key events that took place,” the relative said.

Police also responded to two other crime scenes Saturday.

One of those incidents happened just after midnight on the 3500 block of Debby.

A man there was taken to emergency in critical condition.

MPD answered another call about 1 p.m. on the 2800 block of Green Terrace Drive.

One man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
