One person was shot and killed and another was hospitalized following a shooting in Kalamazoo late Saturday night, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).
The shooting happened in the parking lot of a local business near Portage Street and Washington Avenue just before 10:30 p.m., police said.
Shondale Devon Kellumn, 32, of Kalamazoo, died at the hospital while a 33-year-old Kalamazoo resident, who was also shot, has since been released from the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to KDPS.
The department said that while they are working on their investigation, they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
