An 18 year-old juvenile identified as Shawn Alexander Goods-Martin together with an unnamed juvenile has been arrested in connection with a shooting on the Isle of Palms.
Shawn Alexander Goods-Martin was charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon.
It has not been confirmed if he was involved in the shooting.
The identity of the other juvenile, who was also arrested, has not been released.
Police originally detained several suspects following the Friday evening beach brawl.
“We don’t know that any of them are necessarily the individual that fired,” Cornett said.
Dozens of gunshots could be heard in video footage which surfaced following the attack.
A large group of teenagers had gathered at the beach for a “senior skip day,” Police Chief Kevin Cornett noted.
Reportedly, a “couple of altercations” had broken out, which ultimately ended in gunfire.
The shooting at the beach which resulted in six victims being injured, took place around 5:20 p.m. on Isle of Palms, 94 miles south of Myrtle Beach.
All six were transported to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) with non-life threatening injuries.
Hundreds of people including high schoolers taking an unofficial day off were on the beach at the time, and there were several altercations before shots were fired, Isle of Palms Police Chief Kevin Cornett said during a news conference.
