Ayo Makun, comedian/actor/movie producer, says many entertainers lack humility and are entitled, hence their lack of longevity in the industry.

Speaking on Saturday on The Gist with Emma Ugolee, AY said, “sense of entitlement is killing the industry”.

The star of A Trip to Jamaica also admonished his peers in the entertainment industry that fame does not last forever.

AY said: “Sense of entitlement is very common in the entertainment industry. As soon as you have something that is doing well out there, automatically, AY wants to call you for a show and the ticket has to be business class. Sense of entitlement is killing the industry.

“Fame has a spirit. It’s good for you to bask in that euphoria, to have fame, be big, and have a larger than like attitude but it doesn’t last. That is what these people don’t understand.

“I’ll take 2face as an example. He has been there over time, but he hasn’t always had hits back to back. In almost anything, there are low moments, but anywhere he gets to, everyone wants to identify with him.

“People, brands are still much connected to him. Being humble is not something you can fake. If you fake it, the other part of you will give you away.

“2baba, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Ali Baba understand the business and are refined. That’s why they have been number one for many years. These guys, when one album fades it becomes difficult for them to get to another level but 2baba, based on his brand, humility and legacy, he will still be relevant.”
