A sister of the alleged second wife of the murdered Mfantseman MP has revealed that her sister carried along her marriage certificate to the one-week commemoration yesterday in order to confirm her status as a wife of the deceased MP.
Ghanaians were thrown into a state of shock yesterday when a nurse and businesswoman in Takoradi, Sarah Quansah Hayford, surfaced at the funeral grounds, holding herself up as the second wife of the late lawmaker.
Many Ghanaians had questioned the legitimacy of Madam Sarah Hayford to lay claim as a lawfully wedded wife, considering the fact that the late MP’s widely recognized wife is Madam Ophelia Hayford who has even been mentioned by the NPP as a possible replacement for her deceased husband.
However, speaking on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Ekourba Gyasi, Sister of the alleged second wife of murdered Mfantseman MP, Maame Asabea said they sent the marriage certificate to the one-week celebration to show that her sister was legally married to the MP.
Asabea further narrated that the late MP tied the knot with her sister in a traditional ceremony followed by a court wedding in 2012.
“They got married in 2012 and they have been blessed with two boys, Ekow and Obama. I don’t know why people are saying otherwise. That was why we brought the marriage certificate to the one-week memorial service,” she added.
