Former Hearts of Oak player, Saban Laryea is eyeing a move to join bitter rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko to become Maxwell Konadu’s first signing on his return to Kotoko.Laryea, who featured for Hearts in a successful spell before joining Ococias Kyoto in Japan is now set to make the dreaded move to the camp of ‘the enemy’.
Saban by nature is a hard tackling and robust defensive midfielder and will add some much needed bite to Kotoko’s midfield.
Coach Maxwell Konadu in his quest for another successful spell as Kotoko manager will be hoping to make some signings to bolster his squad ahead of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
Kotoko have already been linked to one former hearts player in Patrick Razak but the links to Saban Laryea come as no surprise with the porcupine warriors looking to fill the gap left by the injury to Richard Senanu and the contract issues with Justice Blay.
Speaking on Accra based Hotfm, the agent of Saban Laryea, Mr. Atanga said;
“I can only confirm that Sarbah definitely wants a return to the Ghana Premier League and this will be soon and most likely he will play for one of the biggest clubs in Ghana.The move will definitely shock a lot of Ghanaians but it’s the best for the player at the moment”.
He continued by saying, “ I am a Hearts fan but sometimes the player’s interest is paramount and his decisions must be respected, I know coach Maxwell Konadu really admires my player so I will not be surprised if he joins Kotoko before the start of the premier league season in Ghana”.
The Ghana premier league kicks of on the 28th of December, 2019 and teams are preparing for the upcoming season.
