Rodrigo Renteria Bravo: Man killed Saturday morning in Birmingham identified

A man who was shot and killed early Saturday morning has been identified.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Rodrigo Renteria Bravo.

He was 34.

Around 2:40 a.m. West Precinct officers were dispatched to a shot spotter alert at the Exxon gas station in the 1100 Block of 3rd Avenue West.

When officers arrived, they found Bravo lying in the gas station parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, the shot spotter registered multiple rounds fired.

The Exxon was closed when the incident happened. However, El Centenario Nightclub across the street was open.

Detectives canvased the area to search nearby for surveillance cameras.
