Authorities in Lewiston, Maine, have named 41-year-old Robert Card, a retired military officer, as the prime suspect in the shootings at at least two businesses in the city.
According to law enforcement reports, Card is a firearms instructor believed to be affiliated with the Army Reserve, based out of Saco, Maine.
Public records indicate Card’s residence as Bowdoin, Maine, and list his age as 40, with his date of birth noted as April 4, 1983.

According to marca.com, Robert Card is twice divorced, and the name of his wife is not publicly known.
One of his ex-wives obtained a restraining order against him.
He is a father of three children.

Robert Card opened fire at a bowling alley and a bar in Lewiston, Maine, on Wednesday night, killing at least 20 people and injuring dozens more.
As of 11 p.m. Wednesday, the Robert Card remained at large as authorities ordered residents and business owners to stay inside and off the streets.
A shelter in place order was initially issued for Lewiston. That shelter in place remains as of midnight, and is now expanded into Lisbon, authorities said.
A vehicle related to the investigation was found in the Lisbon area, officials said, prompting the newest warning.
In addition to authorities across the state, agents with Boston’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are responding.
Central Maine Medical Center has called the incident a “mass casualty event, mass shooter event.”
