Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Kwame Nisah Apau known in showbiz as Okyeame Kwame has sent a message to veteran musician Gyadu-Blay Ambolley asking him to retract a defamatory statement against him in 72 hours or face him in court.
Quite recently, Gyadu-Blay Ambolley was on TV3’s New Day and made some damning allegations against the rapper accusing him of taking a mouth-watering loan of GHS50,000 from the past governing body of the Musicians Union Of Ghana (MUSIGA) led by Obour. According to him, the rapper failed to pay back the loan which he took.
In an Instagram post by the rapper on Wednesday, he posted a letter drafted by his lawyer on his behalf directed to the high-life musician asking him to withdraw his statements. In the said letter, the lawyer said Gyadu-Blay’s statements were defamatory and that he had 72 hours to retract his statement or face a lawsuit.
His caption read;
“I will like to tell my business partners, stakeholders and my fans that Gyadu-Blay Ambolley has perpetuated untrue fabricated lies about my character and reputation. However, my lawyers are handling it. Thank you for your support.
It is my honest prayer that Gyadu-Blay Ambolley will do the needful ehich includes but not limited to due diligence, retraction and apology before the 72 hour duration given to him.
I hope this scripture will not be true in caser (Proverbs 16:18). Hopefully, this will not be a case study for testing the law in hand”.
