Thierry Henry has reportedly verbally agreed to take over as the new Aston Villa manager.
Steve Bruce currently remains in charge of the Championship outfit, but new majority shareholders Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens are understood to be considering a change following last week’s takeover of the financially-stricken club.
Bruce is on a rolling contract at Villa and has already missed out on promotion to the Premier League with the club twice.
The Daily Star reports that Thierry Henry has now agreed to the role, providing he receives reassurances from Sawiris and Edens about their plans for the future of the club and how they hope to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Henry has most recently been serving as Belgium‘s assistant manager.
