One person has died following a crash involving a semi-truck in southwest Charlotte Tuesday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m., police responded to a car accident on Westinghouse Boulevard near Steele Creek Road.
At the scene, a Kia Sorento was found with extensive front-end damage, and a Freightliner semi-truck was found with damage to the right cargo bed.
The driver of the Kia, 34-year-old Renard Adams, was found inside the car with serious injuries.
Adams was later pronounced deceased at the scene by MEDIC.
According to police, the semi-truck was attempting to make a left from Westinghouse Boulevard onto Granite Street when it was hit by the Kia Sorento.
The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
