Earlier today, news broke that Investigative journalist Captain Smart of Angel FM/TV has been taken off air on the call of a high-ranking politician.
According to reports, Captain Smart’s boss has allegedly asked him to go off air for a while as a result of undue pressure that has been piled on him by high-ranking officials in government.
It was also alleged that he was asked to go off air for his usual critical commentary on national issues making the ruling government unpopular.
Well, the manager of Accra-based Angel FM, Kwadwo Dickson has revealed the main reason why Captain Smart has been suspended.
According to him, reports that the renowned journalist has been suspended for criticizing the government is false. He revealed that the ‘Anopa B)fo)’ morning show host was suspended for hurling insults at high government officials including President Akufo-Addo.
He explained that Captain has been advised to refrain from insulting high government officials but decided to go his usual way whenever criticizing the government.
