The tallest man in the world, Sultan Kosen, 35, from Turkey and is 8ft 1in tall and the shortest woman in the world, Jyoti Amge, from India who is just 2 feet tall have finally met in Egypt and their fares were paid by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion board in a bid to boost visitor numbers to Cairo’s ancient monuments.

Both are Guinness record holders – and Kosen is one of only ten people in history measured at over eight feet tall.

Kosen has a condition called pituitary gigantism where the brain produces large quantities of growth hormone. Amge, who was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra in 1993, is an actress, and has a growth abnormality called achondroplasia.
