Parliamentarians Become Foolish When Their Parties Assume Power – Muntaka

The Member of Parliament for Asawasi Constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, HoN. Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka has described parliamentarians in Ghana as foolish once their political parties assume power of governance in the country.

According to him, that is one of the biggest problems facing the country.

Hon. Muntaka was in an interview with Kumasi-based Angel Fm when he made this statement.

The Asawase MP said the bias political stance of parliamentarians in the country gets to its annoying peak when important decisions are being taken. He noted that MPs are blinded by their loyalty to their respective political parties and don’t take decisions that tend to impact society positively.

“I have been saying this all the time, that Parliament whether, under NDC or the NPP, we are the biggest problem this country has. We parliamentarians become foolish when our party is in power. We approve of anything presented to us when we are in power. When you are in opposition, we oppose everything”, he said.
