Chicago – On Saturday morning, a woman with a concealed carry permit shot and killed a man after they argued in a parking lot on the city’s Southwest Side.

The incident is currently under investigation by Chicago police.

The man, identified as 41-year-old Otis Whiteside, was involved in an argument with two women around 1:40 AM in the 4700 block of West 47th Street.

During the altercation, one of the women drew a gun and fired, striking Whiteside in the armpit.

Whiteside was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The woman who fired the gun, who has not been identified, drove herself to a nearby police station and cooperated with detectives’ questioning.

At this time, no further details have been released by authorities. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Victim Identified as Local Resident

Otis Whiteside, the victim of the shooting, was a resident of Chicago. He was a former employee of Walgreens and attended DuSable High School.
