Olympics protested against Medeama after the Tarkwa based club fielded an unqualified player when both sides met in the Ghana Premier League.

The player in question, Nana Kofi Babil, had accumulated 3 yellow cards before both sides met in the league. This rendered him unqualified for the encounter but he went on to play in that game.

Olympics took on the case and reported Medeama to the FA, who have since taken action.

The FA in a statement read:

Great Olympics have been declared winners of their protest against Medeama in respect of their matchday 12 game played at the Akoon park in Tarkwa.”

“In a protest filed after the match, Great Olympics claimed that Medeama fielded an unqualified player in the said match.”

Medeama went top of the Premier League table after match week 15 with their 2-0 win over Legon Cities football club.

This ruling now means they will drop 3rd after having 3 points deducted from their total tally.

The Ghana Premier League however, is on hold after the President of the country suspended all sporting activities as part of measures to deal with the CONVID 19 pandemic.
