Ohemaa Mercy attended St. Peter’s Anglican Primary School in Koforidua for her primary education and Ghana Secondary School for her secondary education.
Her further education was at the S.D.A. Teachers Training College, Asokore, Koforidua, where she earned her Teachers Certificate ‘A’.
Career
In November 2004, Ohmaa Mercy released her debut album.
The album, titled Adamfo Papa, received widespread airplay after the release, resulting in Ohemaa’s exposure.
The 2006 Ghana Music Awards nominated her for seven awards, but she didn’t take home any.
The same year, she won Discover of the year for the Gospel Music Awards.
Edin Jesus, the second album by the Ohemaa Mercy, was released in 2007.
Six months after the release of the second album, Omaa Mercy sold 875,000 copies, making it the best-selling album of the year.
For the 2008 Ghana Music Awards, Ohemaa Mercy was nominated for 10 awards for the album Edin Jesus.
Until the present time, this is the most nominations in the awards scheme’s history.
She won three awards at the event: Gospel Artiste of the Year, Gospel Album of the Year, and Gospel Album of the Year.
Former Ghanaian President, John Kufuor, awarded her with a Grand Medal during the National Honours.
During 2010–11, Ohemaa released Wobeye Kese, which became her third top-selling album and again topped all major chat shows nationwide.
Her electrifying performances on major platforms have won her a massive fan base, not only for her love of her music but also for her extraordinary stage performances.
Ohemaa has performed on stages with internationally renowned artists, including Andrae Crouch, Israel Houton, Don Moen, Darwin Hobbs, Juanita Bynum, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, to mention a few.
She now has six successful albums out to her credit, including Aforebo, her latest.

Isaak Twum-Ampofo is the husband of Ohemaa Mercy.
Many couples look up to them for their wonderful relationship.
According to her, her husband is her best friend and the one who helps her to be the best version of herself.
They have three sons together.
They include Aseda, Nhyira, and Nyamekye.
