Some galamsey operatives who were arrested in the Atewa forest has disclosed that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) hired them to create trouble during the 2016 Ayawaso West by-election and the 2020 polls.
According to a report by starrfmonline, the accused persons who are currently in court accused the NPP of using and dumping them.
They explained that they were sent to mine in the forest from the seat of the President and now they are being called thieves after their arrest.
They vowed to further expose the ills of the ruling party; stressing it is ‘not a god party’.
“You sent us to Ayawaso, in the 2020 elections you sent us to Kumasi to make a show. But today you are calling us thieves meanwhile it is the office of the President that sent us to the Atewa Forest. NPP is not a good party. We will show them.”
