A woman identified as Nisaha Blanco is dead, and a 37-year-old man is in custody after a shooting in Richland County on Saturday evening.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said deputies were called to the 4300 block of Candlelite Drive, located off Bluff Road, in reference to a shooting and found a female victim a short time after arriving. Authorities said she was lying on the ground near a vehicle.
The sheriff’s department said deputies performed CPR until emergency personnel arrived to take her to an area hospital. However, police said she later died from her injuries.
When they arrived, deputies initially searched for the suspected shooter but didn’t find him. However, during the investigation, they learned that the shooter was 37-year-old Dexter Fuller. At some point during the investigation, deputies said Fuller returned to the scene where he was arrested on charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Preliminary reports suggest the shooting followed an argument between Fuller and family members.
