In a very interesting conversation on UTV’s United Showbiz show, actors and actresses agreed Nigerian producers paid them up to four times more than Ghanaian ones did.
The weekly Entertainment show on 3rd October had the creme de la creme of Ghana’s movie industry, Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah, John Dumelo, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Nelson and Van Vicker as guests.
Discussing how much they earned, from their movies on the United Showbiz program, all the actors who have worked with Nigeria movie producers agreed that they paid more compared to Ghanaian movie producers.
Sharing a personal experience, Jackie Appiah revealed she was paid four times more what she usually received from Ghanaian Producers.
She added that Ghanaian producers were a little stingy when it comes to paying them their worth because they always found mischievous means to deduct money from their salaries.
The actors on the show pleaded with the leaders in the country to support the movie industry by investing in it financially and also creating more cinemas to ensure Ghanaian movies are shown.
