The Chief Executive Officer of embattled Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah popularly referred to as NAM 1 has been granted a bail amounting to the tune of ghs1 billion by an Accra High court.
His bail was granted granted on Friday after he appeared before court for the first time since he arrived into the country.
NAM 1 arrived into the country some days ago from Dubai after a long court issue over a $39 million scandal which he was declared winner and freed. He was however detained by the CID of the Ghana Police Service in relation to monies he owes customers of his gold dealership company, Menzgold.
His lawyer, Kwame Akuffo prayed the court to tender judgement with mercy as his client (NAM 1) has had all his assets seized by government whiles away in Dubai.
As part of his bail conditions, he is expected to report himself to the police every Wednesday.
Some aggrieved customers of Menzgold also stormed the court premises to monitor proceedings.
