Friday night’s shooting rampage that spanned just a few blocks in north Wichita left one man killed, a pet injured, and a house battered with bullet holes.
Myron Tucker was shot and killed in Prospect Park, the site where the shooting spree started, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
His sister, Tamela Richard-Tucker, sat in her Wichita house on Wednesday, nearly a week after Tucker was shot and killed, and described her brother as outgoing, intelligent, and laid-back.
Myron celebrated his birthday on November 19, three days before police say Jose Acosta shot and killed him. His sister is upset that someone could kill a random person.
“I say sick when you’re shooting up people that you don’t know and in a neighborhood that you ain’t never been to,” said Tamela.
The older sister of Myron, Tamela, questioned how her brother is dead; she said he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Richard-Tucker, the oldest of 13 siblings, said there are now four alive. She had to bury one of her younger sisters a few months ago and now has to bury her younger brother, Myron.
“It ain’t easy to sit and watch them grow up and then watch ‘em fade away,” said Tamela. “Like I said, I’m praying to God right now, I don’t be the last one. I got three left. Me, it’s four of us left.
Tamela said she needs help laying her brother to rest and has set up a GoFundMe.
