Minority calls for the EC boss to appear before parliament over the aftermath of the December 7th elections

The minority in parliament has demanded that the EC boss, Madam Jean Mensah must appear before parliament to answer questions following the aftermath of the 2020 presidential elections.

According to the minority, it was needful since that is one of the immediate platforms where the EC can be held accountable for its actions.

The 2020 general elections is under a lot of critic by the opposition National Democratic Congress after it described the results as rigged. The presidential candidate for the NDC, John Dramani Mahama rejected the results a few days after the EC called it in favor of the NPP.

This has sparked series of demonstrations across the country by NDC party faithful calling for the reverse of the election results.

Addressing the media, former minister of energy under the NDC government of Mahama and MP for Elembele, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Armah Baah said the parliament is one of the few places the EC can be called to order, noting that there are series of questions the EC needs to answer. He said;

 “this parliament before we rise must invite the electoral commission and ask the EC serious questions that are putting this democracy and our security at risk. And its the responsibility of this parliament to invite the electoral commission before we rise. It’s very important.” If parliament does not do that, then who should?”
