A woman from Union Grove died in a Friday afternoon crash in Morgan County.
Megan Persiani, 30, was walking along the side of U.S. 231 when she was struck by a 2017 Chrysler 300, according to a news release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Persiani died at the scene near Staid Road, about a mile south of Lacey’s Spring, according to senior state trooper Brandon Bailey.
The driver of the Chrysler, a 32-year-old from Arab, was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment, Bailey said in the release.
Persiani’s friends and loved ones took to Facebook to share their grief early Saturday.
“I just feel numb. I just can’t believe you’re gone. You’re actually gone,” said one Facebook post. “This doesn’t feel real. I love you and I miss you.”
