Martin Amidu Did Nothing As Special Prosecutor – Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has waded in the on-going topic of the resignation of the then Special Prosecutor of state, Martin Amidu.

According to the MP, Martin did nothing when he was in office and as such it comes as no surprise to hear he resigned. He made this comment on his tv station, Net 2 television on Monday night.

Martin Amidu resigned from his position as Special Prosecutor on Monday, stating various reasons such as lack of support from the government to help him execute his duties wholly. His resignation received a lot of reactions from Ghanaians considering the hope Ghanaians had in him when he was appointed as the first Special Prosecutor by President Nana Akuffu Addo.

In his comments, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong said he knew Martin Amidu was a wrong choice for the position and cautioned his party members not to encourage his appointment bur they didn’t take heed to his advice. He added that Martin Amidu has underutilized his position as Special Prosecutor and that it was okay for him to resign.

“Nobody should be scared or worried about Martin Amidu’s resignation if he has resigned so be it, he didn’t do any better work when in office. No wonder Mahama recently described him the way he did,” he said.
