Man dies after jumping out of moving taxi

A 30-year-old man has met his untimely fate after jumping out of a moving taxi on the Bekwai-Awaso highway.

Identified as Christopher Antwi, aka Minister, he said to have passed away after returning from rehearsal in Bekwai to Bibiani where he boarded the taxi.

Narrating the incident, a witness, Isaac Darkwa, revealed that the front tire of the taxi hit potholes, causing the car lights to go off automatically.

He added that right after the pothole incident, Christopher could be heard shouting that he wanted to get out for fear of being kidnapped and killed.

According to Isaac, the taxi driver comforted him and promise to drop him at the police station near his destination.

However, Christopher, who taught he was going to be killed he jumped out of the speeding taxi and severely injured himself.

He was rushed to the Bekwai Greenshield Hospital where he uttered his last words before passing on hours later as a result of internal bleeding.

“Save me, I don’t want to die. God please save me, God please save me. God, I won’t sin again. If you save me I’ll serve you till the end of time. Please save me,” he said.

Mr Antwi’s body has been deposited at the Anhwiao community morgue.
