Veteran journalist and pollster, Ben Ephson has predicted a win for the opposition National Democratic Congress should they re-elect former president John Dramani Mahama as the next flag bearer for the 2024 polls.
According to the journalist, Mahama is the people’s favorite and will most likely win for the NDC in 2024.
Even though it’s early days yet, the argument of who leads the two biggest parties in Ghana, NPP, and NDC to the polls in 2024 has started. Many names have begun popping up, with some coming as a shock.
In an interview with Captain Smart on Angel Fm, Ben Ephson believes that the ND needs to think thoroughly if it wants to overthrow the ex-president ahead of the 2024 polls because he has more grounds nd people.
He stated that considering the votes Mahama pulled in the 2020 polls, he is surely the people’s favourite for 2024.
He said; “I would be very surprised if the NDC picks somebody apart from Mahama.
He got over 6.2 million votes. The main parties, NDC and NPP, are going to have headaches selecting a flagbearer. As things stand now Mahama is the foregone Candidate. He has a lot of advantages.
Their main opponents also have a lot of disadvantages towards 2024. The only thing is whether they [NDC] will have a new running mate or not.”
