At this point, it’s pretty clear that Olamide is allergic to taking breaks. Only a few days after the release of “Onyeoma” — his brand new collaboration with Phyno — the beloved rapper is back with another track, “Owo Shayo”.
Produced by the talented Pheelz (the genius responsible for “Onyeoma”), “Owo Shayo” finds Olamide experimenting with gqom, the South African house subgenre that afforded Patoranking his 2017 hit song, “Available”.
While the track, which is about people with money showing off, never really rises to the infectious heights of “Available”, it still feels like it will be another easy hit for Olamide, who has been on a serious roll this year.
So far this year, Olamide has given us “Science Student”, “Sheevita Juice”, “Omo Ologo”, “C. Ronaldo” and now “Owo Shayo” — which feels like a record, even for him. Granted, not all the songs have been great, but he’s definitely on a much better creative streak than we’ve seen from him in a while.
We strive for accuracy and fairness.
