Ghana boasts of a wide array of rich,traditional cultures that stem from the different ethnic communities in thecountry. In 2007, TV3 Network in Ghana came up with the idea of Ghana Most Beautiful,a reality show that seeks to promote Ghana’s national unity amongst the 10regions through the display of their cultures. What better way to unify peoplethan through entertainment right?
The show brings together 10 of the most beautiful women from the 10 regions. The show lasts for a period of 13 weeks every year. Throughout the duration of the show, these beauties are tasked with displaying their prowess.
They have to be poised while trying to balance brains and beauty in order to woo the audience into falling in love with them.In any case, isn’t beauty in the eyes of the beholder, in this case, the viewers? They give the audience a feel of their positive cultural values and in the end, the contestant who displayed beautiful knowledge, exceptional moral values and good upbringing in their culture is crowned as Ghana’s Most Beautiful.
