The victim in a tragic and unintended shooting incident that took place over the weekend has been identified as Lissette Janel Lebron Di Cristina by the deputies of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the OCSO, deputies were called to the 10700 block of International Drive around 11:43 p.m. on Saturday to respond to a shooting.
Upon arrival, they discovered a woman who had sustained a gunshot wound.
On Monday, the sheriff’s office officially confirmed the woman’s identity as Lissette Janel Lebron-Di Cristina, a 23-year-old individual.
The incident occured inside a vehicle near the intersection of I-Drive and Central Florida Parkway. Lebron-Di Cristina was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Witnesses told OCSO that the shooting was “accidental,” and that a gun discharged, striking the woman.
OCSO said that all parties involved in the shooting cooperated with deputies, but nobody has been arrested or charged with a crime at this time.
The State Attorney’s office will review the investigative report and determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
